NOTUS
A Washington politics newsroom pairing veteran editors with early-career journalists.
About
NOTUS is the news outlet of the Allbritton Journalism Institute, founded by Politico co-founder Robert Allbritton specifically to train early-career journalists alongside veteran editors. Its weekday morning newsletter covers Capitol Hill and federal politics with the top stories of the day plus a short list of what the newsroom is watching next.
Being staffed partly by journalists early in their careers gives the coverage a slightly different energy than the established Washington press corps, often chasing stories the bigger outlets haven't gotten to yet. Worth following for readers who want another set of eyes on Washington beyond the usual bylines.
