Most advice about A/B testing was written for lists a lot bigger than the one you probably have. That doesn't mean testing is useless at smaller scale. It means you need to be honest about what your list size can actually tell you, because running a test and misreading the result is worse than not testing at all. A false pattern that you now believe and act on is worse than no pattern.
